Evacuation & Shelter Resources

When severe weather strikes, Florida homeowners need valuable, up-to-the-minute reports to make informed decisions and protect their family. There may be hazards you haven't heard about, so it's always a good idea to check local resources about downed powerlines, closed roads, etc. The following Florida resources will help you stay informed about storm activity.

Shelters: During an emergency, not all shelters will open at once. To find out which shelters are available, check your county's emergency website, which you can find at http://floridadisaster.org/shelters/

Evacuation Routes: During an emergency, your local emergency management program(s) should always be consulted first. Find your area's Evacuation Routes & Zone Map.

Road Closures: Florida's 511 Program offers current reports on road closures, evacuation routes and more. Dial 5-1-1 or visit Florida 511 Emergency Info for more details.

Tip: download the Security First Mobile App! Many of these valuable resources can be found within our FREE app, including links for finding active shelters and evacuation routes.
