Security First Insurance Sponsors Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

Florida-based homeowners insurance provider, Security First Insurance Company, announced today that the company is a sponsor of the 15th annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event to be held on Sunday, Oct. 16 at the University of Central Florida’s Bright House Networks Stadium in Orlando.

Security First Insurance is supporting the race as a Bronze and Education sponsor. Additionally, the company has a team of employees who will be participating in the race which begins at 7:30 a.m. and starts on West Plaza Drive.

“We need to find a cure for the many different types of cancer,” said Locke Burt, chairman and president of Security First Insurance Company. “With an estimate of more than 270,000 new cases and deaths from breast cancer this year in the U.S., it has never been more important.”

All of the net proceeds raised from the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure go to education, screening, treatment and research programs. The Central Florida Affiliate serves nine counties: Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter and Volusia. According to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure website, the Central Florida Affiliate has raised more than $4 million.

For the month of October, Security First Insurance is displaying the pink awareness ribbon on their website and Facebook page to increase awareness, provide support and encourage online visitors to get involved.
